horror movies, despite some of the failures he has had in the past, his role in The Devil’s
Rejects is pretty much flawless. This production is the sequel to the House of 1000 Corpses
and if you have seen the original movie, you would have high expectations of this one.
Therefore, get your popcorn and stay close to each other, since there will be a lot of hugging
coupled with girly screams!

7. Drag Me To Hell

Brutality and horrifying murders is not something that goes well together in every
horror production, so that is why Drag Me To Hell did things a bit differently.
Director Sam Raimi who directed the Spiderman trilogy took up this challenge and
used every bit of talent he had in order to create a movie that is as much as possible
in the vein of the Evil Dead series. While you won’t be able to see people or monsters
torturing anyone, the movie does contain some pretty nice jump scaresthat will make
your heart rate go up to 150 BPM.

6. REC

If you love Spanish films that are made in the same vein as the movie Quarantine,
then you will definitely spend a few hours to see this production. The movie starts
off quite relaxed, as if it’s just a fluffy news piece, following a regular night in the
life of the local Fire Department. However, the FD is called in to answer a call that
someone made from a building that seems to house some pretty strange individuals.
They all act like psychos, but when you take a closer look at them, they all look like
zombies. This is a creepy and scary movie that will send chills down your spine.

5. The Descent

If you want to experience some of the most intense and atmospheric scares since the
original Alien movie, then The Descent is exactly what you need to watch. The
Descent is about a group of women that planned on going on an expedition, but their
retarded friend drove them into an unknown cave that is three kilometers below
the surface. Naturally, they get trapped inside the cave and that is when trouble
starts rolling. As a disclaimer, since this movie contains some of the scariest and
most claustrophobic scenes ever, you may want to disregard it if that is too much
for you.

4. 28 Days Later

This movie was filmed with mere camcorders and because of that, it gives it that
gritty look which makes the whole production seem more real and therefore,
scarier. 28 Days Later is filled with intense moments and it features some amazing
performances from Christopher Eccleston and Brendan Gleeson who are taking
acting at a whole new level here. One of the movie’s signature scenes that will get you
feeling like you’re actually there in the middle of the action is when Murphy
wanders in London’s empty streets.

3. Hostel

Every man who is in his early twenties dreams about going to Europe and then
having it his way with every hot girl he likes. The guys in this movie make it to
Amsterdam where they start living this dream, but they are soon told tales
of Slovakia during the time of war and that back then, women were so beautiful and
also easy. However, these chaps will get themselves involved in an international
murder and torture for cash business and they are the product. All in all, this movie
is very grueling and not for the faint of heart.

2. Wolf Creek

When it was released, Wolf Creek became an international sensation which managed to
bring Australian horror back to life. This movie is about 2 British tourists that
visit Wolf Creek, which is an outback crater, but while they’re having the most fun in
this little vacation of theirs, their car breaks down and that is when trouble starts
happening. If you’re into sadistic horror movies that have you reaching for your
mommy, then this is definitely one production you should watch.

1. Martyrs

The French have been producing original and smart horror movies for many years
now and Martyrs is one of the best ones you could ever dream of watching. Martyrs
tells the story of how far people in general can go in order to find answers in the
world and what things they are prepared to do and sacrifice to find those answers. If
you like disgusting stuff in horror movies and want to be marked by each and every
one of them, then this is definitely one of those productions that wills tick with you
for a very long time.
